Using nature and the arts as modalities to bring neighbors together, we host events designed to create a sense of belonging, joy, and wonder. All events are led & designed by local artists!
FILMMAKING: We empower organizations, local businesses, non-profits, community champions and artists by documenting their unique stories.
Through the art of film, Our goal is to shine the spotlight on folks & stories in our Charlotte community that are prioritizing people over profit and creating community-based models that prioritize sustainability, equity, and inclusion. Founder
CHARLOTTE NATIVE & QUEER CREATIVE
Hey y’all—I’m Libba Moore (they/them), a proud Charlotte native on a constant adventure for golden hour light, trail systems, and untold stories.
I returned to Charlotte in 2021 and started Charlotte Thrives in order to plant seeds of resistance, joy, and inspiration alongside community members. I’ve spent the years since deepening my roots here—through friendship, documenting Charlotte stories, and the magic that happens when we show up for each other with care.
In order to heal and prosper together, we must honor our city’s history, the story of the land, and one another’s stories. As a Queer creative, I believe in joy as resistance, art as a tool for transformation, and storytelling as a way home. Whether I’m dancing in a forest or or capturing the world through film, I bring my full, curious self into every space I enter—with equal parts wonder and intention.

Filmmaker
DOCUMENTARIAN & VISUAL STORYTELLER
Curiosity is my love language.
I create short films, wedding documentaries, and digital stories that center authenticity, intimacy, and liberation. My filmmaking isn’t just about capturing what happened—it’s about preserving how it felt.
Whether I’m filming an artist’s creative process or documenting a couple’s sacred vows, I approach each project with reverence, deep listening, and a commitment to showcasing people in their full brilliance. I've supported nonprofits, musicians, artists, organizers, and small businesses to show up with clarity, soul, and purpose.
Need someone to direct, shoot, or edit something that's real and resonant? I got you.

Community Organizer
PROGRAM ARCHITECT & EVENT DREAMER
Before Charlotte Thrives, I spent 15 years in the fields of youth development, DEI, outdoor education, and program management—building inclusive systems, launching transformational programs, and mentoring young people.
Now, through Charlotte Thrives, I channel that experience into organizing unforgettable events and creating spaces where people feel safe, celebrated, and connected. From queer storytelling nights to bike rides, watercolor hikes, and sober dance parties—my work is about building bridges, sparking joy, and weaving community through creative experience.
If you’ve got an idea you’re itching to bring to life—I’m here to help make it real, meaningful, and magical.
