Dykes That Hike
Dykes that Hike: An Art Hike Experience
Dykes That Hike – An Art Hike Experience for Queer Nature Lovers: Calling all sapphics, studs, soft butches, masc babes, and anyone reclaiming the word dyke with pride. SHES, GAYS, & THEYS—this one’s for you.
Dykes That Hike is a guided art hike designed to ground you in nature, stir your creative spirit, and connect you with queer community on the trail. We’ll wander through scenic paths, pause for plant ID and quiet reflection, and let the land inspire our art.
We’ll start with a grounding nature walk, tuning into our bodies, breath, and surroundings. A Charlotte-based queer creative will guide a beginner-friendly art session—no experience necessary. Whether you’re painting wildflowers or journaling about joy, we welcome all forms of expression.
Bring your boots, bring your brush, and bring your beautiful dyke self.
🌿 What to Expect
🎨 A queer-centered art session led by local queer artists
🥾 A gentle, mindful hike through local trails
🌼 Guided plant ID + nature connection
🧘♀️ Grounding movement + intention setting
🖌️ All art materials provided (plus bonus points if you bring your nature journal)
This is a space to slow down, celebrate your identity, and create with the land. Come solo or with your queer crew—everyone is welcome as long as they come with respect and a pair of hiking shoes.
Storytelling Shows

Whether you're a seasoned storyteller or just beginning to find your voice, this workshop will help you connect with your experiences and bring them to life.
Each session begins with a featured storyteller who shares a personal piece, setting the stage for reflection and inspiration. From there, we’ll dive into guided journal prompts designed to unlock memories, emotions, and ideas. After some time for writing and reflection, participants are invited to step up to the open mic and share their stories in a welcoming, low-pressure environment.

Forest Silent Discos
Forest Silent Disco: Dance with the Earth
Underneath the forest canopy, put on your headphones, and let the rhythm guide you. Forest Silent Disco is an immersive movement experience where music, nature, and community intertwine. Under the open sky and beneath the trees, we’ll dance freely—without walls, without judgment, and without disturbing the natural soundscape around us.
With a curated playlist streaming through silent disco headphones, you’ll move at your own pace, following the beat or simply flowing with the energy of the forest. Each session begins with a grounding meditation and light movement to connect with the land, followed by an invitation to dance however you feel called. Whether you close your eyes and sway, stomp your feet in the dirt, or let loose with full-body expression, this space is yours to explore.
